Branding

How much does a branding package cost?

Every business is different and every brand package is unique. Based on your business’s requirements, Propaganda evaluates the time it will take to create a complete brand solution and provides a proposal for your review. Typical brand packages start at $5,000 and go up from there.

What is the difference between a brand and a logo?

Branding is the cumulative perspective of how your customers experience and perceive your company, while a logo is a symbol graphic used by an organization to identify itself. Logos are not meant to tell an in-depth story, instead, they serve as the primary identifier of your business. A brand includes every single touch-point your customers have with your company.

What is in a branding package?

At Propaganda, each branding package is custom and varies based on the requirements of the client. A typical branding package might include the logo system development as well as a comprehensive document containing guidelines for how to use the logo and branding elements, primary & secondary font specifications, color palette, general usage guidelines, patterns, icons, clear space, style rules, and common errors.

How long does it take to create a brand?

A typical brand package takes anywhere between 3 weeks to 6 months or longer. This timeline is predefined in the proposal process and is based on the specific scope of work and project requirements. Milestones and timelines may change based on revisions and client responsiveness.

What is the process of branding a company?

Propaganda uses a tested method to streamline the branding process:

  • Discovery document: We begin with a simple document asking specific questions that help guide the design process.
  • Initial kick-off meeting: This is where we get to know you and your product or services, ask questions, review the discovery doc, and identify your objectives.
  • Initial creative: We develop various initial creative directions based on the information we have collected from the kickoff meeting and discovery document. From this stage, we refine as many times as written into the scope of work (typically 3 revisions).
  • Refined option: We review your brand, ensuring it is exactly what you want.
  • Branding Guidelines: A comprehensive document containing guidelines for proper usage of your logo system and branding applications.
  • Delivery of files: A highly organized shared cloud folder with all assets.

What is a rebrand?

A rebrand is taking an established brand and changing its identity to align with the current organization and its customer’s perception of their products, services, and the company as a whole. This is accomplished by revitalizing the brand and making it more modern and relevant to its customer’s needs.

Web Development

How much does it cost to build a website?

Costs for a website vary depending on the scope of the work, functionality, size, and content. Every site Propaganda builds is customized specifically for the client. On average, a typical custom-designed website using proper UI/UX (user interface and user experience) standards and a custom CMS (content management system) starts at $8,000 and increases (or sometimes decreases) depending on the total scope of the project.

What is a CMS?

A CMS, or Content Management System, is a dashboard built onto a website’s back-end that gives clients access to change content such as copy images, and blog posts, and more. A typical CMS will not allow you to change the website’s overall design.

How long does it take to get a new website?

Timelines for web design and development vary based on the scope of work. Design and development of a new site from start to finish is typically 3-8 months.

What is responsive web design?

Responsive web design is an approach to website design that detects the visitor’s screen size and allows visitors to navigate your site from any device. Responsive design is essential because a majority of users view the web from their phone. It also increases visibility on search engines.

What is SEO?

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the process of optimizing your website to get organic, unpaid traffic from the search engine results page. Among other factors, this is achieved by creating relevant content, implementing proper UI/UX standards, and coding the site so that search engines can crawl your website to detect relevant information.

What is the process for building a website?

Propaganda uses proven steps for successful web design that expedite time to launch while maintaining the highest quality design.

  • Discovery: Gaining a strong understanding of your business’s current position will allow us to plan for its future effectively. The first step is to gather up all relevant assets your business currently has in place.
  • Content Collection/Creation: In this stage, we collect all of the content, including copy and imagery that will be on your site.
  • Site Map: Sitemaps are organized lists or flow chart diagrams that show connections between web pages, web page trees, and website content. A visual sitemap is an effective method for planning and communicating ideas about a website’s structure.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: These tools allow us to build a site that not only matches your desired aesthetics but also fits your content perfectly.
  • Final Design: This will be where you get the first look at the site. The entire look and feel will be developed in this phase.
  • Development: This is when your website starts coming to life. In this phase, we take the finalized designs, start coding them, and integrating web functionality. We create a structure that allows you to edit easily, add and remove content in the future.
  • Q&A Testing: Once your website is completely developed with all content in place, we test our work. This is where we check for any bugs and ensure that your website is running perfectly.
  • Deployment: We will work with you to transfer your database, set up your domain, and launch your website.

What is a heuristic evaluation?

“Heuristic evaluation involves having a small set of evaluators examine the interface and judge its compliance with recognized usability principles (the ‘heuristics’).” ~ Jakob Nielsen

In a Heuristic Evaluation, our team will go through the interface of a website and perform various tasks in order to identify usability issues that can be improved for smoother user experience. During this evaluation, our reviewers adopt the point of view of the site’s intended users to understand the target audience and their needs.

This method identifies usability problems based on established human factors principles and provides recommendations for design improvements. Our review of the site focuses on interface functionality and design rather than the properties of the interaction between actual users and the product (issues identified in usability testing).

What platform do you work on?

The platform used will depend on the type of site you are having designed. Propaganda will work with your platform requirements and suggest the best solution for you.

Do you provide copywriting?

Yes. You know more about your business than anyone else, and Propaganda will work with you to pull the most important content for your project.

Do you offer website maintenance?

Yes. We have several different maintenance programs for your new website.

Do you provide hosting?

Yes. We offer several different hosting packages that range from basic to complex hosting that includes updates and maintenance.

What is an SSL certificate?

When installed on a web server, SSL Certificates activate a padlock allowing secure connections from a web server to a browser. Why is this important? Google ranks sites with SSL certificates higher in search and penalizes sites without them.

What is UX Design?

UX Design, or User Experience Design, is the practice of testing our design assumptions against user actions. As designers, we aim to provide visual answers to our clients’ needs. To do this, we make assumptions. These assumptions are predicated on our experience and knowledge of design; however, they are still assumptions. So, in order to know whether they are correct or not, we need to test them with real users. With the results of our testing, we can make more informed design decisions. This in a nutshell is UX Design.

What is UI Design?

UI Design, or User Interface Design, is the creation of visuals that make up a design. This could be a button, color choice, or grid layout.

Do you build sites that adhere to ADA (American Disabilities Act) standards?

Yes, we use the latest design standards for all of our sites.

Is it better to create a new website or redesign an existing site?

In most instances, it is better to create a new site. Older sites may have outdated technology and are not optimized for search. You are going to spend time and money redesigning. Building a new site allows us to build you exactly what you want vs. putting a bandage on something that needs to be fixed.
